Back to gerritt.net TIME FOR TIME OFF July 1, 2006. 9:35 AM I'm not a huge fan of the guy who sits in the coffee shop and uses the free internet while sipping a small drip for two hours. This morning, however, I am that guy. My always-reliable neighbor with the free shared wireless internet connection has disappeared, leaving me disconnected and out of touch. We lost power about three times during the big rains last week, so I suspect he hasn't bothered to or doesn't know how to re-boot his router. Or maybe his conscience got the best of him, as mine did yesterday as I sat down to order my own DSL service. Until then, I'm not online unless I'm sitting in the back table at Murky Coffee trying to look like I'm writing the great American novel. One large caffeinated no-fat iced two-shot cafe-au-lait french pressed. To go? Oh yeah, and a scone. -G * Email Gerritt |
