June 27, 2005 Late night update tonight. I just got off the phone with Skip. They're still cleaning up from dinner, so things were still a little hectic. They left Delaware city at around 7:30 and fought the tides and a head wind for hours. It seems they made a whopping 2 knots for hours. Skip commented that the locals at the marina have told him you travel with the tides or you don't go. Towards the afternoon the tide shifted, and they hit 7 knots without adjusting the engines. They are docked at Penn's Landing and are right in front of the ship Olympia, and across from the Battleship New Jersey. The trip today was very wet as it rained heavily all day. Most of the time the scouts spent below decks, so I'm sure they'll be well rested today. For the adults, probably the opposite is true. Today was not a day to have any extra folks on deck. It seems that they're ready to have some fun now that they've arrived after a long travel day. They plan on touring around Philadelphia tomorrow, and as of right now, there were no specific plans as to what they will do.
