June 28, 2005 News from the city of brotherly love. They've had a good day of touring, visiting Philadelphia, the Liberty Bell, and the Franklin museum. They're gearing up for their departure tomorrow morning. Unfortunately, the marina has only water and electric; no showers, ice, pump out stations or any other amenities. They were in the right place today for weather as they did not get any of the rain storms that we got here. They were expecting some overnight. The marina has been very nice to see at night with a couple of tall ships at port, the Cruiser Olympia, and New Jersey all lit up at night. It's quite a sight for mariners. They plan to pull out early as they really want to use the tides to make it back to the Bohemia River tomorrow night. It seems that they want to avoid Delaware City only that the mosquitoes had a field day with the scouts (mosquitoes prefer the younger type). I've heard that Matt has the award for most mosquito bites. One item of note is that it appears that Sarah has taken a liking to our older scout Davey. I heard something about the skipper's authority to perform wedding ceremonies at sea. Maybe that's something that Mark, Elizabeth and Melanie will have to sort out on return... I also heard that Sarah had a eyebrow pencil moustache and beard, so maybe she's planning on stealing him away??? Looks like Sophia has left for her other commitments, and Colleen has joined the crew, so they'll still have a full crew. That's all for now. I'd expect a long day for them tomorrow.
